School Vehicles Undergo Intensive Safety Checks in Gonda

Gonda: To ensure the safe and smooth transportation of schoolchildren, a joint enforcement team led by the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (Administration) conducted an intensive inspection drive of school vehicles across the district. The campaign focused on verifying compliance with mandatory safety standards in school buses and other student transport vehicles.

During the inspections, officials examined fitness certificates, permits, insurance documents, pollution certificates, fire extinguishers, first-aid boxes, emergency exits, speed governors, GPS systems, CCTV cameras where applicable, school identification markings, valid driving licences of drivers, and the availability of attendants. Operators of vehicles found lacking required facilities were directed to rectify deficiencies within a stipulated timeframe.

The ARTO emphasized that student safety remains the administration’s highest priority and warned that negligence regarding safety norms would invite strict action. Vehicle owners and drivers were instructed to ensure regular maintenance, comply with traffic regulations, observe speed limits, and exercise maximum caution while transporting children. The inspection campaign will continue across the district to strengthen awareness and ensure safe school transportation.
